One of the things that strikes me every day is how efficient and well-organized transport is in Tokyo. In the subway everything is well indicated, even for strangers it is possible to find your way in … and out. I don’t know how many people are moving around every day. Must be millions. Japanese are also very innovative. They are perfectionists. The slightest flaw in anything attracts their attention and they cannot rest until it is eliminated. In general, some Japanese explained me, there is a strong tendency for the Japanese to try to improve on any job they undertake, particularly when using technology. At Toyota people are encouraged and getting important incentives (up to 200,000 yen) to come up with ideas to improve the product they are making or they way they are fulfilling their daily job. In the Tokyo Subway you can see some other funny proofs of this desire
to improve on a process. Never a dull moment. Always something new to discover
